In Buddhism, there is a saying like, "Once you have explored pleasure to it's ultimate limit, the only thing you can get a kick out of is pain." It's this pursuit of pleasure the Buddhists believe lead people to the Naraka world- their version of Hell. In my experience, the saying is true. These elites and their luxury beliefs, they cause people great harm. And I think they get a kick out of the chaos they cause.
